Prelim task - Initial Reaction to Brief

Hi, my name is Rutaba Ahmad and welcome to my blog! This blog will consist of my work during GCSE Media Studies. 

Currently, we are on the topic of magazines and the brief set for this is a Fashion Magazine front cover along with a contents page. I'm quite excited about this topic as it involves a practical element to it and this will be chance for me to demonstrate a range of skills that maybe weren't displayed in the theory aspect. I have a few ideas about how I want the magazine cover to look like however, these ideas are still quite vague and definitely need some thorough planning.

 For this task, I am hoping to meet the brief to a high standard and I mainly want to focus on making my work look professional, and this can be achieved by researching current fashion magazines and exploring their conventions is detail. A worry I have about this task is mainly working with Photoshop. Although I have worked with quite a few editing software before, Photoshop is quite advanced and using it well can make a big difference as to how the final piece looks. 

In  terms of the initial ideas for this, I don't have a set idea yet but i want to keep it simple, especially the main image and then experiment more with other things as I think this will be quite effective and won't make the magazine cover too crowded.

 I am really looking forward to this as this task will be a good opportunity for me to try new things and hopefully I will be able to learn many skills along the way.
